alright guys, so far i've checked and the rough dates if we were to have the class chalet would be around last two weeks of november. it'll most probably be over 2 nights (minimum for bookings) over the weekdays. a maximum of 4 person per room (by law) but i'm not sure how many we can squeeze into a room. can i have opinions on whether we should get a double story chalet (first floor is just living room, i.e more space for sleeping bags if we wanna have more people) or single story (just a room). prices are such: for two nights double story: 330 inclusive gst; two nights single story: 270 inclusive gst. the second floor of the double story chalet is just a room. and we'll most probably be sticking to booking one room due to financial limitations. unless you guys don't mind paying more. yep. OPINIONS PLEASE! or alternatively we could simply have a bbq gathering at east coast or something...

Hello all. Just wanted to post something here since the blog posts are stagnating (dont wanna breed dengue, ya?). I know, im not the chairwoman or class comm or anything, so you can feel free to delete dis post if you want to (just like my previous 1).

Anyways, I know all of us have entered the exam period and intense mugging has alredy begun. Some of us have resorted to banging our head frequently on anything harder than our forehead, while others have channeled their discontentment to the increasingly frequent usage of the thought-provoking F word, and there are those who are forming a conspiracy to kill all muggers out there for world peace. Of course, there are those blessed few who dont even know that their exam is tmr.

Amidst this trialful and tribulatous time of Y5T2W6-8, amidst these 4 hrs of sleep that our body is struggling with to sustain 10 hours of school, amidst these frequent times where we truly feel like giving up, a call beckons

i realised i havent done anything as a discipline rep, but i find that from my point of view, its hard to do what im supposed to do.

the class is muchly segregated into so many different groups, needless for me to say.

even if we dont wanna integrate with each other, i guess speaking to each other every now and then wont hurt i guess!

everyone should be happy! like the cartoons you used to (i still) watch, they hop and jump and twirl like hello pandas; chocolatey filled and sweet and unhealthy.

Dear fellow Kings and Queens,

I agree with Dang completely. Thanks Dang for that post. We still have one and a half or so years together, so we as fellow Kings and Queens should try harder to work as one. Only so can we help each other and strive for greater heights together.

So, let's all cooperate and work as a class, it doesn't matter who's in charge or whatever, so long as everyone plays apart in stuff we do. To people who feel like they are not part of the class, please don't think so. You may want to try to contribute to the class in some ways to feel more involved in the class, there's always an opportunity. Others, please interact more with those whom you feel feel that they are being left out.

Our WOW trip is coming up and I hope everyone in class would enjoy themselves because we, as a team, are helping the less fortunate. So, may we try to overlook others' tiny flaws and , in short like what Dang said to some, be a little more humble. This way, we can not "succumbed to human nature and civil war" among our class.

I know it sounds cheesy, but i'm totally serious about being together as a class. So may we as 508 Kings enjoy the rest of 2008 and the coming 2009.

Dear Kings,

40 years ago, on this very day, Martin Luther King, protector of the rights of the african american people, was assasinated in memphis. Though the world has changed and lives have been improved, humankind is still faced with the very real problem of division and segregation.

Friends (and i say this not with a sarcastic tone, but with a tone of complete and utter seriousness that i rarely display), we as a class, have fallen prey to that exact same sin of division that Martin Luther King sought to dispose of. Like so many before us, Judah and Israel, Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland, France and England of the 1700s, we have succumbed to human nature and civil war among our class seems all too likely to erupted.

Kings and Queens, we can stop this right here and now. The faults lay not so much among individuals, but upon the entire population of the class. Sure some of us may not see ourselves as being guilty, for no fellony has been committed upon our part, but the fact of the matter is, we are all responsible. Even i, the angellic student (hahahaha), am in part responisble for this division. Now is the time to solve this problem, and what more apt a time can there be? 40 yrs on from the death of Martin Luther King's, we can remember his memory, by putting aside our differences and sheathing our swords.

I leave now with some words of advice. Take them to heart if you feel im directing it at you. I wont name names. And if you're pissed with me after this... So be it. To some, try to be less bossy... To others understand the need for personal space... and To others... GeT OuT of mY HAIR!!! haha i was joking about the last one. Seriously, this is of profound and lasting importance. I for one am not going to enjoy a WoW trip with the class if i dont put to rest some of these matters that lay between us.

As a class, let us dispel the threat of war and division, put aside our differences and look past these omnious clouds of despair that threaten the unity of our beloved class.

HOW TO INSTALL AUTOGRAPH 101

Read the CD

Copy ALL the contents in the CD, onto your computer into a new folder

Open the file

"Autograph 3" Windows installer package OR

"setup" Setup Launcher

Do the necessary when the installer wizard comes up.

When they ask for your CD key, look inside your copied folder for the file “Serial.txt” and copy and paste the thing into the relevant fields.

Then set your installation destination to the Exact Same Folder as your new folder in step2.

Let the rest of the magic happen and you’ll have autograph installed onto your computer

NB: I tried installing directly from the CD and random errors happened, so when I did it this way it worked. (:

the venue has changed. cause daniel said that his house is no longer a suitable place. for reasons i cannot remember.

so we gotta decide a venue QUICK. considering it's planned to be on friday afternoon.

Hello, cant help but respond to kill my boredom (I apologise for not being a mugger)

Well, let us all always remember that 'leaders' are really a very subjective group of distinct individuals, and there is no true single prototype for the perfect, desired by everyone leader (unless u are nietzsche and only believe in the ubermensch). Therefore, I think you (Minh) shouldnt have stepped down so quickly and silently just because you think others would be 'better' leaders...

I have once been a leader for a whole year(ASM of my uniform group) & frankly speaking, I dont really like being a leader or taking on a leadership role. Its tiring, stressful, kills your free time, have to set a good example even if you are a bad one, causes rumours to spread behind your back, and may even make people hate you. Though I have an immense amount of slackness lying within me, I believe it is mainly due to the roles, responsiblities, duties, people, situations, decisions etc that the leader has to deal and face with in his everyday duty that will surely tire and wear him down. It is easy to volunteer (or be forced) to be a leader. It is difficult to be a leader. It is worst to be a good leader. It is impossible to be a perfect leader.

Yet, there has to be someone who has to take on this role. And I hope that all of us will know and remember that it is only at the end of the day, despite all things nasty/nice that has happened in the process, that we will only see this leader who has led his class up to greater heights. This leader, whom has shed his blood and tears, whom has channeled all his energy and effort, whom has helped and assisted many with his attitude and character, whom may only spend 2 years with his group and never see them again; we will surely remember and thank him.

Though there were some *ahem* incidences (hey, no man is perfect), I am quite sad that you have stepped down from your position as class chairperson. Still glad however that you have chosen to stay in 5.8 :) I'm sure ALL of us will look forward towards the next successor who will take on this important and really tough job as chairman/chairwoman, who will put on the role as a 'leader', who will lead the class for the faith, for the service of 5.8kind, and not for any personal gains or benefits, or anything that starts with C and ends with AS.

Well, just a penny of my thought (not $25!:) No offense to anyone who may find offense in this critical post.

I am surprised mdm unexpectedly gave in to my step-down request; before that I tried to give it to Daniel and Nick but she said I should stay for a longer probation T_T . Personally, i think they can always keep the class spirit up and are leaders.

I hate it to hear people saying I was trying to change class to 5.09 because I don't like this class. There was a request, true, Patrick Soo consented, true; but I changed my mind and wanna stay. I found that I was just a bit disconnected from people around, and that's my psychological problem. This class, on the other hand, is fun ^^ why should I leave? I don't know why people misunderstand me all the time, even mdm.

Matters of the State

a few ideas came up in my head.

1) wow this skin doesnt look too good. no offence to the person who put in effort to do it =/

2) we should have a class photo for it's quite unfortunate that even as a class, we dont have any lessons together as a whole class. we're even split up during pc and tok.

3) we should keep a class scrapbook and paste pictures which we've taken inside. elisa's scrap book kinda gave me the idea. pity we didnt get any pictures of her before she left. and it's still hard for me to keep in contact with her since she hasnt settled in yet. we could just caption whatever we like. especially that retarded photo of chin. which if u scroll through the slideshow, u should be able to find, and maybe laugh at it a while.

4) regarding chin's idea about the class teeshirt. it's hard to follow through with that idea right now since making shirts isnt exactly a very quick and easy project. first we need to design the shirt and then someone has to get the shirts made. all this i doubt can be done before we reshuffle, and the new jae students come. and another problem comes up. if we do not reshuffle. do we make extra shirts for the new jae students who are lucky enough to join our lovely class. and if we have a shirt which, through experience, usually has the names of all the people in the class printed on the back, what about the new intake of students. it's kinda mean to not include them.

nevertheless. it's hard to bring these topics up in class cause we dont have any lessons together as a class. unless we collectively pon assembly and claim that there was food poisoning from the valentine's day food. or that we all suddenly developed an allergic reaction to flower pollen.

however. i think it's right that we take a picture for hsin yu's sake for i believe she's very sad to leave the class. we're sad to see her go as well. hopefully she will get a nice china boyfriend and be happy with her class.

cause if she does get a china boyfriend, it would be good for her, and at the same time, funny for us. a win-win situation =D

Ello Kings & Queens & Everything In Between (& Everything extra-terrestrial)

Just to inform you that I have added in a 5.8 Kings '08 slideshow just below the tagboard on the left showcasing our portraits and some candid moments within the walls of our palace (#B4-08). Well, I do really hope to get at least every1s picture up on the slideshow... must show the 5.8 Kings class spirit and show-off our chio bu and shuai ge in our class mah..

So, this is an appeal (yes, as serious as the DP Fanny Tan Hong Bao one & DP Chock Thermometer one) that you would surrender to the merciless eye of the camera this Wed, 13/2/08, so I can get this slideshow completed and done.

And if you want to put up any of class pics or remove any of your over-glamorous pics for fear of blinding the eyes of your admirer, feel free to pm me; its my own web album so only Yu, not You, can edit.

i just got the inside word that there will be a haircheck on tuesday. i cant recall for what level the haircheck is for. but better to be safe than sorry.

being the discipline rep and all. i just want to make sure that no one in our class gets caught. cause the ACS haircut is VERY VERY ugly. trust me. it looks like a flower.

me aside, keep your hair in proper condition by tuesday.

okay. with the current state of the class committee, i'm gonna ask ycf for a class committee reshuffle and i hope the class would support this arrangement (:

with daniel supporting this complete and utter revolution, we have come up with a puppet government. with your two main screwed up men in charge. daniel, and yours truly.

and just to add. in order not to offend anyone by constantly changing their template into someone else's, the blog template thing is gonna be a first come first served basis.

whoever wants to change the skin is welcome to.

however, after a person changes the skin, please try to only EDIT the template instead of changing it completely.

please respect the people who tried to change the template and give comments instead of insulting their skins.

if anyone intends to change the skin, i've already signed up for a tagboard. so just add it into the template if you're changing it.it's been sent to the class email. so just retrieve it from there.

i assumed that it would be easier to have a class blog to post whatever announcements we have. instead of having our poor secretary send announcements or documents to everyone individually.

the email is 508.kings@gmail.com
and the password is kingsqueens

therefore, in the future, if anyone has any document to give to the entire class, send the document to 508kings@gmail.com and we can all access the account to retrieve the document whenever we have the time.

make sure u post something on the blog to tell everyone that there is a document to be retrieved from the email account.

simple rules. for simple people.

DONT under any circumstances, change the password.

just one more thing. try to link everyone up to this blog, link up all the class subject groups such as the econs yahoo group. and any other link which is useful for sch perhaps.
